Teaching Youth Pickleball in the Community

Two youth programs are happening in San Francisco run by Pickleball Community players/volunteers. Our goal is to help promote the sport to a new generation and encourage recreational participation in underserved communities.

Additional program details:

1. SF Boys & Girls Club – A structured, skills development program for 8-14 year old youth at selected Clubhouse neighborhood gym locations.  Must become an approved volunteer by SFBGC.  Sessions held weekly on a weekday from 4-6 PM in Excelsior,  Columbia Park (Mission) and Don Fisher (Hayes Valley) Clubhouses.  Coordinated by Luke Vandertie.  See https://www.kidsclub.org/get-involved/volunteer for more specifics.

2. Minnie & Lovie Ward Rec Center – Help introduce Pickleball to the Outer Mission neighborhood at informal drop-in sessions hosted weekly on Wednesdays 4- 6 PM.  Coordinated by Mary Jue.
