Teaching Youth Pickleball in the Community

Two youth programs are happening in San Francisco run by Pickleball Community players/volunteers. Our goal is to help promote the sport to a new generation and encourage recreational participation in underserved communities.

The more ambitious effort is with the San Francisco Boys & Girls Clubs, where we are in the process to establish a structured 10-session skills development program.  Thus far, we have 10 volunteers from our PB Community who have given demos at the Columbia Park (Mission) Don Fisher (Hayes Valley) and Excelsior Clubhouse gyms.  This program involves 10-14 year kids in these underserved neighborhoods.  A fun time was had by all at these demo sessions.

Our second Community support program is at the Minnie & Lovie Ward Rec Center in the Outer Mission.  Our goal is to help introduce the sport to neighborhood youth and families in this location.  Adult, youth and family participants enjoy the opportunity to learn the sport and play a game or two.

Interested in volunteering?  Please enroll with us here and the program coordinator will be in touch.  Thank you.
