The long anticipated construction is complete and the opening of the new Goldman Tennis Center in Golden Gate Park will be Wednesday, March 3.

There are 5 permanent pickleball courts in the facility.  We are really happy to be able to return to this historic GGP location and a fantastic venue for racquet sports.   All courts are lighted for night-time play and the Tennis Center is sure to become a very popular spot for locals and out-of-town visitors.  Unfortunately, current COVID health restrictions prevent any sort of grand opening ceremony, so the venue is only accessible to players with reservations right now.

The courts are run by Lifetime Activities, an experienced operator of facilities in the Bay Area.  You book a court through their website.  The pickleball courts (also referred to as mini-courts since youth tennis will share their use at times) are now open for Doubles play.   There will be drop-in sessions scheduled later, and training classes will also be offered by Lifetime.  Stay tuned.

If you book a court, please show up 10 minutes before your start time to get checked in and pay your court fees.  You will also need to leave the facility once your reservation window expires per health regulations.  All reservations are made on the Lifetime Activities website.  You need to set up an account and profile.  The pickleball courts are #14 A/B/C/D and #15.  Select “tennis” as the Service, then select your court from the dropdown.  A “senior” discount for weekday daytime play will be given if you are the registering player and over 65.
